Hi Everyone,
Walking with the dogs this morning, my coat undone for the first time in ages, some daffodils poking through the grass verges and the sound of birdsong in the air, I had a familiar feeling: Spring is on the way!
I know that, actually, we’re still officially in Winter, but Spring is on the horizon, and, just as the world seems to be waking up, many of us are doing the same with our business.
Yesterday, we spent some time in the garden, tidying, mulching and weeding. In the house, we’re making plans for some DIY and decorating, Easter guests and wondering if the clocks changing will make Roger the Labrador confused again. (Florence the Whippet just sleeps a lot, whatever the time.)
So with Spring on our minds, I’m writing to let you know that today is the final day of the early bird price for my Self-employed Spring Clean course.
Until Midnight, the course is £199 (incl VAT). I’ve done a FAQ for anyone who is intrigued (below the image) and please do reply to this email with any other questions. I’d love to help you make this Spring the one that your business really thrives!
To book, simply reply to this email. I’ll then send you an invoice, contract, and pre-course questionnaire. Or, email hello@freelancefeels.com with ‘Spring Clean’ in the subject line. It begins on March 28th, and a full run down of the dates is on freelancefeels.com
Spring Clean - so we’re going to tidy our desks and offices, right?
Well, sort of! Part of this course is to sort out the space around you (if you’re anything like me you’ve got a pile of stuff on the table beside you). But it’s also about Spring Cleaning our digital lives, and our minds, goals and feels. That might be anything from ‘decluttering’ your social media (AKA unfollowing accounts that don’t serve you, or updating your Bio), to dusting off your CV. In fact, a CV coaching session is included in the course. We’ll look at ways you can tidy up and chuck away the ways you work (for example, I have a habit of spending time on job websites - I never apply for the jobs, I just scroll. One of my goals would be to throw out that habit!). We’ll talk about ways to be more productive and focused, too. This is all via worksheets, group sessions and individual coaching.
Who’s it for? If I’ve worked with you as a client, can I still join?
Yes! Anyone who is self-employed, freelance or a small business owner, has a side-hustle or wants to build their own small business is welcome on this course. Previous clients will find it offers new material and a group setting with new names and faces.
Q: What are the worksheets, exactly?
Each worksheet is a page long, and will have leading questions and challenges for you to do, all themed around spring cleaning. For example, in Week 1 you would make a list of three things you want to clean up, and why. Then you would work out what they need to be cleaned - if you’re cleaning up your computer desktop, what does it need? New spreadsheets, software, updating preferences, even emptying the recycle bin. If your goal is to be more organised, you might want to commit to finding ways to do that, from a VA to different programmes. The worksheets are for you to fill in as you wish - I will provide them as a word doc and a pdf, so you can either work on-screen or print out and write on them.
And what happens in the group sessions?
Group sessions are a mixture of chatting, sharing advice and experience and what I call ‘coaching moments’. That is to say, if you raise something in a group session, I might go into ‘coaching mode’ and ask you a question or challenge you on it. It’s all very friendly, and nobody has to share if they don’t want to! It’s a lovely informal way to meet other freelancers, to share ideas and to have that wonderful realisation that you’re not alone in this self-employed life.
What am I going to get out of this course?
The main things you’ll get are clarity, focus and confidence! By cleaning up both your physical and mental space and making time for your business, you’ll become more focused, you’ll set goals and you’ll work out what really matters to you - what you want to take forward into the rest of 2022.
By cleaning up, decluttering and reorganising, you’ll be more productive, as you’ll spend less time on things that simply aren’t working for you. Your to-do lists will become more focused and ‘doable’ as you’ll only write things on them that are in line with your plans for the rest of the year. And your interactions on social media and at networking events will be more streamlined because you’ll know what you’re about and what you want to achieve.
You’ll come away with:
A focused plan for the rest of the year
A freelance CV that you want to send out to new clients
A clear understanding of what works for you - and what doesn’t
New freelance friends, thanks to the group sessions!
Inspiration and drive to make new things happen for your business
A renewed sense of purpose for your ‘freelance’
