Introducing Ick to Slick: A newsletter all about the words we use for our small business and how they makes us feel
Coaching + content = confidence!
Hi everyone,
So here’s the final mid month missive before this returns to being a monthly one-off newsletter as was originally intended.
And it’s all about a new mailing list I’ve set up, which I’ve called Ick to Slick.
For the November Substack, I wrote about my life as a story teller - I’ve lost count of the people I have interviewed, and, over the years, many of them have been small business owners, freelancers and entrepreneurs.
It’s dawned on me that a love of social media and content, the skills to tell stories that I’ve honed and the coaching element of my work combine into what I’m calling Content Consultancy.
That’s business speak for ‘Looking at all the words people use for their business and helping them find the right words, in the right place for them’.
Content can be anything from newsletters and blogs, to bios, Linked In posts and, yes the dreaded video on Reels or TikTok.
I meet so many people now who all pull the same face when it comes to social and content for their business - I call it the ICK face. A kind of grimace, like they’ve smelled one of Florence the Whippet’s farts.
It’s not the tech, though, that tends to flummox us - that’s intuitive and it’s something we can learn, with time and patience. It’s the confidence that challenges people. The ‘I know I should do more, I can see clients are on social but… who wants to hear from me? What is a hashtag anyway? Nobody wants to see my face…’ feels.
That’s what I’m on a mission to help you fix.
Ick to Slick will talk about all things content, with a sprinkling of coaching, and include info on what I offer, things like workshops, and coaching availability. All the ‘salesy’ stuff I don’t want here.
If you are interested in chatting about your content ‘ick’ then you can of course reply to this and we can set up a chat. Ditto with one on one coaching. But the best thing to do is to click HERE and sign up to Ick to Slick.
Just incase you missed that link, it’s Ick to Slick on Mailchimp
I’ll see you back here in December, and not before!
